The point of Graceland is to give all who wish to visit a glimpse of this private corner of Elvis Presley's world. It's easy to call Graceland tacky or whatever else (Remember it was decorated in the 70s and everything was tacky in the 70s and the story goes some of the furniture he bought as a practical joke) but Elvis decorated and furnished his home to his taste and likings. If you are a casual fan or simply curious, go with someone who is a fan. It will make your time at Graceland more enjoyable. Please remember that to most of the staff that is employed there, it's just a job (The parentheses information is another's addition
