Description
Tours are offered of the library, visitor center, and plantation house on the second Saturday of every month and by appointment. Kittiewan Plantation desires to be a destination amongst the James River Plantation tour circuit. As a house museum, it is unlike most of the other options along the James as it belonged to the middling sort. It showcases not just the 18th century, but also the 19th and 20th centuries as previous owners have been collectors of various Americana. As the home of the Virginia Archeological Resource Center, it highlights archeological collections from across the Commonwealth and hopes to become a resource center for archeologists and researchers in the mid-Atlantic region.
