Description
Palmer Museum preserves and displays the artifacts, works of art, and stories that make Palmer unique. The Agricultural Showcase Garden, just south of the Visitor Center, displays many of the vegetables and flowers grown in the Valley from pioneer times into the present. Stop by in the fall, and see how giant the cabbages are getting! If you're interested in the Palmer farming community, the Palmer Visitor Center is an ideal starting point for the Palmer self-drive farm tour. Stop by to pick up the maps and information that will get you out to the fields. To experience Palmer on foot, first park your car in the ample lot at our convenient downtown location. Then, armed with information and inspiration, you can explore the Palmer Historic District, visit local shops, and enjoy our dynamic community. Allow us to assist you as you venture out into the greater Palmer area to visit the many local attractions and wilderness areas that make the Matanuska-Susitna Valley a distinctive and exciting place to be.
