This depends on the particular auction.  Most auctions of personal property do not require anything other than your registration.  Some auctioneers will only accept checks from known buyers.  Some auctions such as real estate auctions may require a letter of credit to bid or a certified check.

Generally, you should not be concerned about attending any auction based on registration requirements unless you note in advertisemenrs or terms that special reguirements apply.
