2016 NASG National Convention
NASG conventions are held each year, typically in the late-July, early-August time frame. A convention is sponsored and organized by one or more individuals, or one or more clubs. A convention's activities are usually spread out over three or more days. The event draws people from the North America, Europe, and Asia. It is open to all current NASG members. Some parts of the convention may be open to the general public, but that is entirely up to the organizers. There are usually extra-fare events associated with a convention, such as local tours of railroading or industrial facilities. Some conventions include activities for spouses and children. One of the big draws of a convention is that it is a gathering place for all current vendors who sell S-scale products. If S-scale products are hard to get in your area, a convention is a great place to make your purchases. Most conventions will also feature organized or self-guided tours of club or private layouts only open to convention goers. This is a great opportunity to see layouts that you might otherwise not be able to see.
