The car show is held rain or shine at Second Street and Capitol Avenue. First-, second- and third-place awards will be given in more than 60 classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, RVs and scooters. All entries are parked on a first-come, first-served basis. One Marque Award celebrating the Chrysler will be given, and one Illinois State Champion will be recognized. Registration is $15 per vehicle or $25 after Sept.1. To celebrate this historic event, special event license plates featuring the Dodge Challenger are available for $20 per set. The show's registration tent will open at 7 a.m. and close firmly at 10 a.m. Judges will convene at 10:30 a.m. on the steps of the Illinois State Library for a quick meeting with judging at approximately 11:15 a.m. Awards are presented at approximately 4 p.m.
