"Norman Rockwell in the 1940s: A View of the American Home Front"
June 10 - August 21, 2016 - The highlight of the exhibit is Rockwell’s “Four Freedoms.” The paintings appeared on four consecutive Post covers in 1943.
Rockwell’s home front paintings fostered patriotism and encouraged citizens to support for the war effort. Besides the “Four Freedoms,” the exhibit will show other iconic Rockwell paintings, including “Rosie the Riveter,” “The Homecoming,” “Home on Leave,” and “Back to Civies.”
