April 23 - June 26, 2016 - This exhibition explores relationships between the written word and visual art, as well as an explanatory section on the conservation of this special addition to the museum’s collection. The original Sunnyside Mural is installed at the Demuth Museum in its entirety after recent conservation. This mural was created in 1930 by a group of artists and friends including Charles Demuth and tells a story of a young couple traveling through Lancaster County with clever uses of double entendre and whimsy.
