Michel Auder: Untitled (I Was Looking Back To See If You Were Looking Back At Me To See Me Looking B

This three-channel video installation from 2014 is based on the footage Auder recorded at night, when the electric light in adjacent homes allowed glances into stangers’ lives and reflections in windows further mangled borders between inside and out, private and public.
Perspectives on the moon above the New York skyline and the pulsating, colorfully lit traffic complete this poetic and painterly portrayal of the urban night. The work continues in a contemporary medium the work of earlier artists such as John Sloan and Georgia O’Keeffe.

Closed on Mondays and national holidays.
