World Leaders & Global Citizens: Photographs by Patrick Leahy, U.S. Senator

Exhibit held in Wolcott Gallery - This exhibition, organized by Georgetown University Law Center and the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of Patrick Leahy’s Senate service, offers a glimpse into the daily events witnessed by a world leader. Many of the photographs record candid, insider views of historical moments, such as President Reagan taking the oath of office at his second inauguration, or Secretary of State Madeleine Albright sleeping on a cargo plane en route to a state visit to Bosnia. Other evocative photographs offer an uncompromising view of the struggle of families dealing with the fallout of international conflict.
