The American Encaustic Tiling Company, founded in Zanesville, Ohio, in 1875, was at one time the largest tile manufacturer in the world. The company lasted until at least 1945, and during its time managed to adorn numerous American households. Many of the company’s tiles are now considered historic jewels.
