The term appearance refers, to one that is that is visible, or manifest to the senses, but what is ultimately illusory. The term is frequently contrasted with reality and so its usage often occurs in various schools of philosophy. In the context of art, it is referred with regard to the visuality in the visual arts, like referring of an art form to its appearance based on its elementary form and defining property of art. For eg; referring to the appearance of an artwork to be aesthetic.
