The term Bauer comes from Andy Bauer who is famous in art pottery business.  Andy Bauer became part of the growing Arts and Crafts movement in California. His company made art pottery after 1912 and Bauer pottery is a California-made ware which became popular soon. Bauer solid-color dinnerware, called 'Plain Ware,' became the first solid-color American dinnerware. In the context of antique, Bauer Pottery is one of the most collected of the California potters. Bauer pottery is most known for the 'Ringware' line but all of their pottery is collectible.
