Casein Engraving Definition
Casein engraving is a technique of increasing the thickness of Masonite boards, using casein layers, for engraving purposes. During this process, casein layers are used to build the Masonite board to a thickness of around1/16 inch. Later these boards serve as a plate for engraving. To protect from tampering, the surface that is engraved has to be sealed prior to inking.
