Deldare Definition
Deldare refers to the pottery made by Buffalo Pottery at Buffalo in New York in 1902. The company was established by Larkin Company which produced soap, for the purpose of offering a soap dish as a premium. The products designed by Buffalo Pottery were embossed with the image of a buffalo and the date of manufacture. Later, the company began producing commemorative plates and institutional wares for hotels, armed forces and rail roads. The Deldare collections have a green or khaki colored background and hand painted transfer designs. Deldare product lines include bowls, ewers, pitchers, plaques, candlesticks and chambersticks.
