Dionne quintuplets were the first quintuplets to survive. They were born on May 28, 1934 in Canada. It was the Canadian government that gave publicity about their birth and they attained a special status which made them popular. The quintuplets attracted tourists from various parts and dolls and souvenirs were marketed in their names that pictured these quintuplets. They were named Emilie, Marie, Yvonne, Annette and Cecile.
