Goss Definition
Goss refers to Goss china that was first made by William Henry Goss in 1858 at Falcon Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent. In 1934, when the factory was taken over by Cauldon Potteries, it changed the name to Goss China Company. Goss china ceased to be produced after 1940. In the early twentieth century, the most popular of Goss china in England were Goss small crested china souvenirs. Goss China is similar to Irish Belleek in both body and glaze.
