Lens is the transparent tissue in the eye situated between the iris and vitreous humor. It focuses light to form images. Lens also refers to a transparent substance with two opposite surfaces. Both surfaces may be curved or one surface may be curved and the other plane. Lens refracts light rays and they converge and diverge to form an image. Lens used in camera is an example for this.
