Panorama Definition
The term ‘panorama’ is derived from two Greek words “pan” meaning all, and “horma” meaning view. This term was first used in the 18th century. It is used to refer to a broad and unbroken view of an attractive landscape or any surrounding. Panoramas were a series of images, pictures, or drawings that were either arranged on a cylindrical or curved surface or pictures exhibited one at a time by being unfolded/unrolled and made to pass in front of the spectators. Panoramas were common used during the 1830s and 1840s. However, their fame subsided in the 1860s. The buildings that were used to house the panoramas were also referred to as panoramas. Panorama paintings included a 360 degree view of the surroundings.
