Parchment Definition
Parchment is a material that is prepared from animal skin. Parchment replaced the use of papyrus during the early Roman period. Skin of animals such as goat and sheep were used to make parchment. Parchments were used to write and paint. Contemporary paper replaced the use of parchments. The documents or manuscripts that are created on such material are also referred to as parchment. In addition, papers made imitating parchments are also commonly called parchments. We can parchment craft that is done on parchment paper.
