Shibuichi is a Japanese alloy of silver and copper. The proportions of copper and silver vary depending upon the desired color. The product undergoes patination process after final polishing. This is a process by which each alloy gets a unique color. Shibuichi was used for katana till Meiji period. From then onwards it is used to make decorative objects.
