Tiffany Pottery Definition
Antique Tiffany Pottery refers to the pottery made by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) and his company of artisans and craftsmen. Tiffany potteries are limited in number and had high price. It was one of the last medium he explored and is believed to have been more personally involved with pottery production. His potteries were also known as “Favrile” Pottery, meaning handmade or crafted. His Pottery had a wide range of colors including, white, green, ivory, red, turquoise, brown, red, and lavender. He was comfortable using bold mixtures or closely related tones. His potteries were glazed or unglazed.
