Walking Canes Definition
A walking cane or walking stick is a device that is used to assist a person in walking. It is commonly made out of wood. A walking stick normally has a curved handle and is held in the hand to aid in balancing or supporting a person while walking. In the past, walking canes were used by historical figures and fictional characters. Walking canes are of three types namely folk art canes, city sticks, and gadget canes. Gadget canes were popular as they could hide weapons, cigarettes, or even makeup. Similarly doctor canes which could hold medical supplies were also popular. Fancy and antique canes decorated with gold handles, precious stones or animal bones are significant in terms of antique.
