Androgyny Definition
Androgyny is the mix of both male and female characteristics. Androgynous paintings are often seen in ancient art work. Ancient Egyptians included androgynous figures in their representation of deities. Androgynous figures are also found in the representations of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. For example, Ardhanarishvara is the androgynous form of Hindu God, Lord Shiva and his wife, Sree Parvathy.
