Anglo Saxon Art Definition
The term Anglo-Saxon art is used to refer to the art created during the Anglo-Saxon period existed during the fifth to eleventh centuries in England. It is characterized by interlaced figure or design. It began with the Migration period style that the Anglo-Saxons brought with them from the continent in the 5th century, and ended in 1066. Anglo-Saxon art still exists mostly through illuminated manuscripts, Anglo-Saxon architecture, fine ivory carvings, metal works and some work in other materials.
