Beck Definition
The term Beck refers to a name found on Buffalo Pottery and plates which is decorated with animals, birds, or fish. The name comes from R. K. Beck, a wildlife artist who was famous for wildlife work on porcelain. R. K. Beck did a series of game bird, fish and deer scenes for the use on plates. These were based on his original paintings and Beck’s signature appears along with the paintings on the plates. R. K. Beck worked for several potteries including Buffalo pottery. These decorative plates are popular collectibles.
