Blanc De Chine Definition

The term Blanc de Chine is referred to a French term used by the European which means “White from China” which refers to a type of white Chinese porcelain. It was made at Dehua in the Fujian territory in southeast China from the seventeenth century and is generally known as Dehua porcelain. Blanc de Chine is highly transparent and all-white or in many shades of white. Most Blanc de Chine is in the form of sculptures rather than made for utilitarian purposes. It was normally used for making dolls and there are also many Buddhist deities and personalities, as well as animals.
