Cosmetic Definition
The word cosmetics is derived from the Greek word 'kosmetike tekhne' , meaning technique of dress and ornament. The initial evidence of cosmetics originated from the tombs of Ancient Egyptian pharaohs. It is an art of artificially beautifying oneself by concealing any defects or irregularity of face or body. A cosmetic is a preparation made from powder or cream which is used to apply on skin as makeup in order to beautify human body. Cosmetics usually include items like lipstick, mascara, rouge, and eyeliner. Cosmetics can also be used to change or alter the appearance of a person for performing any art.
