Countersinking Definition
Countersinking is an art of making a conical hole cut in a manufactured object. A countersink is a tool which is used to make such hole. Such sockets are drilled in order to position a screw or a bolt. Such bolts or screws entered into such hole may be used to join sections of a work. Countersinking is the technique of using a countersink to do this. This process is also used to remove the sharp edges left from a drilling to improve the finishing of a product. The basic geometry countersink may be used in many tools, such as drills, drill presses, milling machines, and lathes for plunging purposes.
