Flashing refers to a sheet metal used to strengthen and weatherproof the joints of a roof. The term also refers to excess material attached to a molded or cast product. The flashing is removed by cutting, breaking or grinding. The process of removing flashing is called deflashing. Flashing is also termed as flash.
