The French term flamboyant literally means flaming. In architecture the term refers to florid style of Gothic architecture from late 15th century to the middle of 16th century. The flame like windings of the tracery of the building resulted in the term flamboyant. Palais de Justice de Rouen, France is an example for flamboyant.
