Found Object Definition
Found Object refers to an object or product found and used by the artist to create an art. The found objects themselves need not have any artistic value. The utilization of printed image of a chair pasted to the painting titled Still Life with Chair Caning (1912) by Pablo Picasso is considered to be the first instance of found art. Found art was perfected by Marcel Duchamp utilizing daily use articles as art. The series were titled ‘Readymades.’ Found art is used in painting, sculpture and other forms of art.
