Glasses Definition

Antique glasses refer to glass wares produced between late 1800s and mid- 1900s. Cut glass, pressed glass, Depression glass, carnival glass and elegant glass are some examples of antique glasses. The glass wares of the period include decorative and functional containers and bowls. Though cut glass has been made from ancient times, most of the cut glass found today belong to American Brilliant period between 1880 and 1905. Depression glasses belong to 1920s to 1930s. The factories called the clear glass patterns of the period as crystal. The pressed glass were popular by the name Early American Pattern Glass or EPAG.
