Jataka refers to collection of stories on the previous births of Buddha. Each story illustrates a moral based on Buddhist Dharma. The Jataka tales had a great impact on Indian architecture also. The carvings on relic shrines of Sanchi, Amaravati, Goli and Bharhut have scenes from Jataka tales.
