‘Neoclassicism’ refers to a style or movement in French art. This evolved as a response to Baroque during the middle of 18th century and this movement continued until the middle of 19th century. The principal purpose of this movement was to restore the principles of early Greek and Roman art. The Neoclassic artists, usually, resorted to classical forms in order to express ideas regarding courage, sacrifice, and a sense of patriotic feeling towards one’s country.
