Nutcrackers generally refers to the tool used break the shell of nuts. Nutcrackers existed since the 3rd or 4th century B.C. Earlier these were made from metal. Wooden nutcrackers came into existence and became popular since the 15th century. It was in the form of soldiers, king or any other profession. Nutcrackers were normally positioned on dining tables but they were also used as signs of goodwill and good luck. They were used to save people from danger and evil spirits. In modern times they are used for decorative purposes especially during Christmas.
