Pinnacle Definition
Pinnacle may be used in architecture both for decoration and also to improve the structural efficiency of a building. It is a tower like erection that is built atop a construction that stands upright at the topmost position like that of a peak. Pinnacles were major attraction of Gothic architecture. It serves the both ornamental and configurational benefit of the construction. These conical caps are basically heavy and are mended with lead to empower the pier or foundation of the building by making it firm by enabling it to support the stress of vaults and roof. This creates a downward thrust rather than sideways thereby making the building stand erect.
