The term readymade, in the context of art, refers to an everyday object which is termed as art by the artist. Marcel Duchamp is considered as the pioneer artist creating readymade art works. He exhibited bicycle wheels, snow shovel and urinal as works of art and signed them. When the readymades were elaborately used in an art work Duchamp referred it to as assisted ready mades.
