Runner is a channel in the mold used in wax casting. The molten metal flow from the funnel into the mold through the runner. The channels are prepared by fixing wax bars to a model of wax. The metal is also filled once the mold is filled. The runners are sawn off after the work but sometimes they are also included into the design and the final work.
