Ruskin Definition
Ruskin is a kind of pottery that was founded in 1898. It s was founded by William Howson Taylor at Smethwick, Birmingham. Ruskin pottery specialized in making Chinese style pottery and used flammable, mottled glazes. Taylor also tried high temperature and luster glazes to obtain different colors, patterns, and textures. Wide varieties of products like useful wares, hatpins, cufflinks, buttons etc. were produced. This type of pottery was active till 1935.
