Tragacanth is a natural gum that is viscous, odorless, and tasteless. It is obtained from the sap that is drained from the root of a species of herbs commonly known as "goat's thorn" and "locoweed" and thereafter dried. The gum is water-soluble mixture and has white or reddish color.
