Trecento Definition
Trecentro is the short form of "milletrecento" and refers to 1300s or the fourteenth century Italian art. i.e. the middle Ages, a highly creative period. The period saw the emergence of Pre-Renaissance painting, sculpture and architecture.
In Art, 14th century Italian painting was also referred a trecento painting. Mainly two schools of painting, namely, the conservative Sienese School of Painting led by Duccio de Buoninsegna (1255-1318) and The Florentine Proto-Renaissance School led by Giotto (1267-1337).
