Tsukurie or Tsukuri-e refers to Japanese painting technique and is linked with yamato-e style of painting. Here the painting created in a series of stages. Firstly, the initial drawing outlines are drawn. Then, over it there successive layers of opaque color painting is given, and finally the details are enhanced by lines in ink. It was famous during the times of Heian (VIIIth- XIIth  century) and Kamakura (XIIth - XIVth  century).
