Vandals Definition
Vandals is an Eastern Germanic tribe or group of tribes. They overran Gaul, Northern Africa, and Spain, in the fourth and fifth centuries. Renaissance and early modern writers blame them to be the cause of the decay of the Roman civilization. They are said to have sacked and looted Rome. This led to the use of the term ‘vandal’ to refer to a person who causes destruction to property belonging to another person or to the general public.
