Vexillology Definition
Vexillology is the scientific study and collection of information about flags. The term Vexillology derived from two terms, the Latin term “Vexillum” which means flag and Greek term “logia” which means study. The term Vexillology was propounded by the U.S. Scholar Whitney Smith and appeared in the print media in 1959. A person who studies about flags is a vexillologist, and the art of designing flags is termed as vexillography. Similarly, a person who designs flags is termed as vexillographer.
