Anything that can be dissolved in water is water soluble. Water soluble oil paints are a recent development in the field of art. It replaced the traditional oil paints which uses hazardous solvents like turpentine. Water soluble oil paints can be thinned and cleaned up with water easily and hence preferred to traditional paints.
