Alexandrite Definition
Alexandrite is a precious stone that is seen used in jewels. It was commonly seen used by Russian aristocrats and was discovered in the mid 19th century. This gem changes color. It appears as an emerald during the day and as ruby at night. That is, under sun light and fluorescent light, Alexandrite sparkle in different shades of green. And under incandescent light, it appears in shades of red or purple.
