Campaign Definition
In relation to antiques, the word is related to portable military furniture that existed in the 18th and 19th century known as 'campaign furniture.' This type of furniture is mainly meant for travelling and includes washstands, beds, chairs, writing chests etc used by military. It is mostly made of teak or mahogany and has removable legs. The fittings are made of brass and the pieces may be unscrewed to make it flat to carry for military campaign.
