Camphor Glass is a clear glass that is treated with hydrofluoric acid vapors to give it a frosted whitish or a cloudy appearance. Camphor glass was designed in the 19th century in Midwest factories. Blue camphor glass designed by the Sandwich Glass Company is very rare. The glass resembles gum camphor in appearance, therefore the name, Camphor glass. Decorative glass objects, bottles, lamp shades, and art decors were made using the glass. Camphor glass is also used in jewelry.
