CCD Array Definition
CCD Array means charge-coupled device array. It is a light-sensitive diode seen used in digital stills, video cameras, and scanners. It converts photons or light into electrons or electrical charge. It is widely used in digital imaging process. CCD array is the main component of a scanner and is the most common method that is used to capture images in scanners. CCD was invented in 1969 by Willard Boyle and George E. Smith.
